This is a \u00a33.9 billion joint government and industry investment in projects that will make the UK more competitive in civil aerospace.<\/p>\n<p>There is around \u00a3150 million available each year to support projects, and there are regular opportunities to submit ideas during the course of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses and researchers can submit expressions of interest in carrying out innovative projects. The best ideas will be invited to apply for funding support.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"ideas-must-be-in-line-with-uk-aerospace-strategy\">Ideas must be in line with UK aerospace strategy<\/h2>\n<p>We are seeking projects that are aligned with the UK\u2019s aerospace technology strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Priority areas include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>strengthening the UK\u2019s whole-aircraft design and system integration capability and positioning it for future generations of civil aircraft<\/li>\n<li>the development of smart, connected and more electric aircraft<\/li>\n<li>ensuring the UK is a global leader in the development of large complex structures, particularly wings<\/li>\n<li>advancing a new generation of more efficient propulsion technologies, particularly large turbofans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p><a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ati.org.uk\/funding\/our-strategy\/\">Find out more about the ATI and the strategy.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"competition-information\">Competition information<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>the competition opens for expressions of interest on 2 July 2018, and the deadline for submissions is 18 July 2018<\/li>\n<li>successful applicants will be invited to make a full funding application.
