{"id":93282,"date":"2018-06-27T11:30:00","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T11:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=256f0fc385a8beede56031e907601f99"},"modified":"2018-06-27T11:30:00","modified_gmt":"2018-06-27T11:30:00","slug":"news-story-support-for-game-changing-ideas-apply-for-an-innovation-loan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=93282","title":{"rendered":"News story: Support for game-changing ideas: apply for an innovation loan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Innovate UK has up to \u00a310 million in innovation loans to support game-changing ideas being developed by small and medium-sized businesses in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The loans are for highly innovative late-stage projects in any area of technology or the economy that can demonstrate a clear route to commercialisation and economic impact.<\/p>\n<p>They will be made available through Innovate UK Loans Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Innovate UK.<\/p>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p>Innovate UK has already offered \u00a38 million in loans to businesses developing solutions for the UK\u2019s urban infrastructure, energy and transport challenges. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/first-innovation-loans-offered-to-businesses-improving-smart-cities-and-transport\">Find out more.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"projects-must-show-significant-economic-impact\">Projects must show significant economic impact<\/h2>\n<p>Projects must lead to innovative products, processes or services that are significantly ahead of others in the field.<\/p>\n<p>They must have a clear business plan and demonstrate that they will deliver significant economic impact and return on investment as soon as possible after project completion.<\/p>\n<p>The competition will fund a variety of projects across different technologies and markets.<\/p>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/innovate-uk-open-funding-programme\">Find out more about Innovate UK\u2019s open programme.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"about-the-innovation-loans-programme\">About the innovation loans programme<\/h2>\n<p>Innovation loan competitions are being run as part of a 2-year pilot programme.<\/p>\n<p>The programme recognises that innovations need different types of funding support. It offers flexible, low-interest loans for innovation projects that are nearer to market than those that typically receive grant funding.<\/p>\n<p>It is aimed at innovative micro, small and medium-sized businesses that can manage a loan but struggle to access finance from commercial lenders or schemes backed by the British Business Bank.<\/p>\n<p>This is the fourth of 5 loan competitions.
