{"id":93464,"date":"2018-07-02T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-02T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=bb2f2b2de5e00e4bf397459f02115dad"},"modified":"2018-07-02T13:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-07-02T13:00:00","slug":"news-story-magnox-limited-to-become-a-nuclear-decommissioning-authority-subsidiary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=93464","title":{"rendered":"News story: Magnox Limited to become a Nuclear Decommissioning Authority subsidiary"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) has today (2 July 2018) announced that Magnox Ltd will become a subsidiary of the NDA from 1 September 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The NDA\u2019s Chief Executive, David Peattie, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">This decision marks a new approach to managing the 12 Magnox sites but is consistent with a similar change we made at Sellafield in 2016, where the simplified approach is resulting in more efficient decommissioning progress.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The decision follows the announcement, made in March 2017, of the NDA\u2019s intention to terminate its contract with Cavendish Fluor Partnership to decommission the Magnox sites.<\/p>\n<p>In line with a recent change to the way Sellafield (the NDA\u2019s largest and most complex site) is managed, expertise from the private sector will be engaged through multiple smaller contracts, rather than through a single large Parent Body Organisation (PBO).<\/p>\n<p>Mr Peattie added:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Cavendish Fluor Partnership will continue to manage Magnox Ltd until September 2019 and I would like to thank them for their continued commitment in delivering the Magnox decommissioning programme.
