{"id":93517,"date":"2018-07-03T15:30:59","date_gmt":"2018-07-03T15:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=75cece2e602c43a4de78587a8473f7f0"},"modified":"2018-07-03T15:30:59","modified_gmt":"2018-07-03T15:30:59","slug":"news-story-evaluating-new-medical-technologies-apply-for-business-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=93517","title":{"rendered":"News story: Evaluating new medical technologies: apply for business funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/office-for-life-sciences\">Office for Life Sciences<\/a> has up to \u00a31.5 million to invest in business projects that evaluate innovative medical devices, diagnostics and regulated digital technology in real-world <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/pages\/home.aspx\">NHS<\/a> settings.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"life-sciences-opportunities\">Life sciences opportunities<\/h2>\n<p>The life sciences sector plays an important role in the UK economy with a turnover of \u00a363.5 billion in 2016. It also has a critical role in providing new medicines and treatments that will improve patients\u2019 lives.<\/p>\n<p>More than 95% of companies in the sector are micro, small and medium-sized businesses, which often find it difficult to gain the real-world evidence they need to have their innovative technologies adopted.<\/p>\n<p>This competition aims to help businesses gather that evidence.<\/p>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/innovation-apply-for-a-funding-award\">Find out more about Innovate UK funding opportunities.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"projects-must-address-nhs-priorities\">Projects must address NHS priorities<\/h2>\n<p>Funding is for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>smaller projects that develop plans for evidence-gathering in the NHS<\/li>\n<li>larger projects that collect clinical evidence on the performance and impact of a medicine or device in the NHS.
