{"id":93576,"date":"2018-07-04T21:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-04T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=704df4e90e7b24ab955d1f77f9597e78"},"modified":"2018-07-04T21:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-07-04T21:00:00","slug":"press-release-lord-chancellor-announces-new-panel-to-boost-law-tech-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=93576","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Lord Chancellor announces new panel to boost Law Tech industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<ul>\n<li>Government-backed industry-led delivery panel to boost new legal technologies<\/li>\n<li>Industry experts to provide advice and support<\/li>\n<li>Builds on Government strategy to drive business innovation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a speech at the Lord Mayor\u2019s Dinner for HM Judges at Mansion House on Wednesday evening, the Lord Chancellor unveiled plans for a panel of industry professionals to support and accelerate the development and adoption of innovative new legal technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Chaired by The Law Society\u2019s incoming President Christina Blacklaws, the group will provide direction to the legal sector and help foster an environment in which new technology can thrive.<\/p>\n<p>The Government recognises the importance of embracing cutting-edge initiatives to ensure the UK\u2019s \u00a324billion legal services sector continues to grow and retain its world-leading reputation.<\/p>\n<p>The legal sector is already adapting to harness the power of these emerging technologies &#8211;  with the Serious Fraud Office introducing a document review system, backed up by artificial intelligence, that can review 2,000 documents a day and law firms embracing automated digital contracts that allow for on-going monitoring of contract terms.<\/p>\n<p>Lord Chancellor David Gauke said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I am determined to ensure our world-leading legal services sector continues to thrive and that the UK remains the primary choice for international business.<\/p>\n<p>The Lawtech industry is experiencing rapid growth and cutting-edge initiatives are already underway across the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">It is of paramount importance that, working together, we foster an environment in which these new technologies are embraced and take advantage of every opportunity created.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The UK is the ideal place for LawTech to thrive &#8211;
