{"id":94868,"date":"2018-08-17T14:59:51","date_gmt":"2018-08-17T14:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=663ba3f4e953375ba2fbb2a456642b7a"},"modified":"2018-08-17T14:59:51","modified_gmt":"2018-08-17T14:59:51","slug":"news-story-new-cafe-funded-by-llwr-proves-huge-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=94868","title":{"rendered":"News story: New caf\u00e9 funded by LLWR proves huge success"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Funding of \u00a34,000 from LLW Repository Ltd (LLWR) for a pilot project to launch a beach caf\u00e9 on the seafront at Silecroft has paid dividends.<\/p>\n<p>The project has proved a great success since its launch in August 2017, creating one full time job and attracting visitors from as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the United States, who have sampled the food and drink on offer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reaction has been so positive,\u201d said Sal Millar, a member of the Whicham Community Interest Company (CIC) Beach Group, made up of local people who have got the project off the ground.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople have been saying a caf\u00e9 was needed for years in that location, but without LLWR we would not have got started. Their injection of cash at the start made us press ahead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bulk of our visitors come from within a 10-mile radius, but we also get a lot of holidaymakers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>LLWR initially gifted \u00a32,000 to the CIC to enable them to buy a container unit that had been used on a building site.<\/p>\n<p>It was painted, decorated and had kitchen facilities installed.
