{"id":95682,"date":"2018-09-17T13:55:23","date_gmt":"2018-09-17T13:55:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=baaa4dc1286a05bb7ffb43afc71619d3"},"modified":"2018-09-17T13:55:23","modified_gmt":"2018-09-17T13:55:23","slug":"news-story-hmrcs-nick-lodge-joins-the-bank-of-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=95682","title":{"rendered":"News story: HMRC\u2019s Nick Lodge joins the Bank of England"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Nick Lodge, Director General of <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr>\u2019s Strategy Group, has taken up a new position with the Bank of England.<\/p>\n<p>He was first appointed to <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr>\u2019s Executive Committee in 2012 as Director General for Benefits and Credits, and was formally appointed an <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> Commissioner in the same year. He\u2019s since led Transformation before taking up the new Strategy Group leadership.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> Chief Executive, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/people\/jon-thompson--3\">Jon Thompson<\/a>, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Nick has given a huge amount to this department from its inception to now, leading major change and operational programmes, and providing strong leadership within the Executive Committee and Board. I wish Nick well in his new opportunity and for the future.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Nick Lodge said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I\u2019m excited to be joining the Bank of England, leading a major programme at the heart of the UK\u2019s financial infrastructure. It\u2019s a great role that I\u2019m really looking forward to and that brings me back to banking, where I began my career.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I\u2019ve loved my time in <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr>. I\u2019ve been very fortunate to have worked with great people, as part of some brilliant teams and in a wide range of different areas.
