{"id":95838,"date":"2018-09-20T11:14:05","date_gmt":"2018-09-20T11:14:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=c3a86870273db883e8ef7c5bcd085f27"},"modified":"2018-09-20T11:14:05","modified_gmt":"2018-09-20T11:14:05","slug":"news-story-appointments-to-national-park-and-aonb-boards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=95838","title":{"rendered":"News story: Appointments to National Park and AONB boards"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Appointments to England\u2019s National Park Authorities and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Conservation Boards have been made by Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Michael Gove.<\/p>\n<p>National Park Authority members have a primary responsibility to ensure that the Authority furthers the statutory purposes of the Park. Five members have recently been appointed for four-year terms (ending June 2022) on the following National Park Authorities and Broads Authority:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Broads Authority: Simon Roberts<\/li>\n<li>North York Moors: Patrick James<\/li>\n<li>Peak District: Ken Smith<\/li>\n<li>South Downs: Graham Morrison<\/li>\n<li>Yorkshire Dales: Julie Hutton<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional information regarding the members listed will be made available on the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalparks.gov.uk\/\">individual Authority websites<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of State Members on AONB Conservation Boards have a primary responsibility to ensure that the Conservation Board furthers the statutory AONB purposes as set out in the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Six members have recently been appointed for three-year terms (ending June 2021) on the following AONB Conservation Boards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cotswolds AONB: Nicholas Bumford, Jaqui Fenn, Catherine Le Grice-Mack, Garry King and Andy Parsons<\/li>\n<li>Chilterns AONB: Elaine King<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional information regarding the members listed will be made available on the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cotswoldsaonb.org.uk\/\">Cotswolds AONB<\/a> and <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.chilternsaonb.org\/\">Chilterns AONB<\/a> websites.<\/p>\n<p>The following reappointments to the National Park Authorities and Chilterns AONB Conservation Board have also been made in April 2018:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peak District NPA: Paul Ancell for 2 years<\/li>\n<li>South Downs NPA: Sebastian Anstruther and Margaret Paren  for 2 years,<\/li>\n<li>Exmoor NPA: Robin Milton for 2 years<\/li>\n<li>Northumberland NPA: Jean Davidson and Fiona Gough for 4 years<\/li>\n<li>Lake District NPA: Peter Allen for 4 years<\/li>\n<li>Chilterns AONB: Ray Payne for 3 years<\/li>\n<li>Yorkshire Dales NPA: Julie Martin for 4 years<\/li>\n<li>Lake District NPA: Cathryn Hayhurst for 4 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The appointments are made in accordance with the Cabinet Office\u2019s Ministerial Code on Public Appointments, and are made on merit. There is a requirement for appointees\u2019 political activity during the past five years (if significant) to be declared.
