{"id":97403,"date":"2018-11-09T14:19:00","date_gmt":"2018-11-09T14:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=27ecede7a71d24cfe51b93c92a622b16"},"modified":"2018-11-09T14:19:00","modified_gmt":"2018-11-09T14:19:00","slug":"press-release-david-rutley-tours-uk-food-and-drink-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=97403","title":{"rendered":"Press release: David Rutley tours UK food and drink industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Food Minister David Rutley met with food and drink businesses in Yorkshire and Edinburgh this week to see first-hand the extensive innovation within the sector.<\/p>\n<p>In Yorkshire, the Minister toured the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nestle.co.uk\/\">Nestl\u00e9<\/a> York factory to hear about the company\u2019s innovative sugar reduction technique, before visiting <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/groceries.morrisons.com\/webshop\/startWebshop.do\">Morrisons<\/a> Bradford site to see an integrated supply chain in action and its commitment to source local produce where possible.<\/p>\n<p>During his day in Edinburgh, Minister Rutley heard more about the Scottish food and drink industry, meeting with the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fdfscotland.org.uk\/sfdf\/\">Food and Drink Federation<\/a> (FDF) Scotland and members of the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.scotch-whisky.org.uk\/\">Scotch Whisky Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He also toured the site at independent bottling company <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.broxburnbottlers.co.uk\/\">Broxburn Bottlers<\/a>, where he learnt about the processes involved in the bottling aspect of the supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>Food Minister David Rutley said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The UK\u2019s food and drink industry is renowned for its high levels of quality, innovation and productivity \u2013 and it was exciting to see this in action during my visit to manufacturers and retailers in Yorkshire and Scotland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I am looking forward to continuing to work closely with businesses from across the sector \u2013 and the whole of the UK \u2013 to champion our iconic food and drink products both at home and on the global stage.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This week\u2019s trip follows a recent visit to <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tateandlyle.com\/about-us\/history\">Tate &amp; Lyle\u2019s<\/a> original refinery in London\u2019s East End.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Food Minister David Rutley met with food and drink businesses in Yorkshire and Scotland this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/97403"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=97403"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/97403\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=97403"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=97403"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=97403"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
