The whisky tasting took place in the presence of international taster and Johnnie Walker Ambassador, Mr. Charlos Swett.

During her speech Ambassador Sarah Dickson said:

“Burns Night commemorates the work and life of Scottish poet Robert Burns. His work inspired many generations that loved literature but also firmly believed in freedom and in the power of individuals to promote change and make dreams come true.

Robert Burns portrayed in his poems the elements of a society facing challenges but hopeful for change and he was an inspiration to his fellow countryman and other movements in the world that were searching for peaceful changes for the well being of their societies.

Today I had the honour of attending the Presidential Inauguration in Honduras. A lot of these values were present such as the faith of Hondurans in democracy, rule of law and respect for individual freedom. It is precisely these values that make us friends and we are here to celebrate them.”

The event was attended by Honduran government representatives, business people, media and other Embassy colleagues.
