The Foreign Secretary William Hague said:

I condemn the appalling murder of a Palestinian teenager from occupied East Jerusalem early this morning. It is vital that the people responsible for this crime are held accountable. I welcome the Israeli government’s commitment to bring those responsible to justice. It is essential to avoid any action that could lead to further loss of innocent life. Recent events reinforce the need to take steps towards a lasting peace.
