The Prime Minister requested the honour be granted following the recent government reshuffle, in recognition of Oliver Heald’s longstanding public service to the country.

A knighthood rewards a pre-eminent contribution in any field of activity usually, but not exclusively, at a national level, or in a capacity which is recognised by peer groups as inspirational and nationally significant, and which demonstrates sustained commitment.

Oliver Heald MP

Oliver Heald was appointed Solicitor General in September 2012.

He served as a minister in the Department of Social Security from 1995 to 1997.

He is the Conservative MP for North East Hertfordshire.
