Reacting to news of a spate of killings of Sunni tribesmen in Anbar province by ISIL terrorists, UK Ambassador to Iraq Frank Baker said:

I condemn these brutal murders in Anbar in the strongest terms and offer my condolences to the families of those affected.

These are acts of a barbaric terrorist organisation which is targeting all segments of Iraqi society, regardless of sect or faith.

We will continue to support the Government of Iraq in the fight against ISIL and in its work towards bringing the perpetrators of these horrendous crimes to justice.

I urge all Iraqis to unite against ISIL and its depraved ideology.
