Press release: Lord-Lieutenant for Berkshire: James Puxley

The Queen has been pleased to appoint Mr James Puxley DL as Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for the Royal County of Berkshire to succeed The Honourable Mrs Mary Bayliss when she retires on 14 January 2015.

Biographical Notes

James Puxley DL (65) is a former High Sheriff who has been Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Berkshire since 2010. A farmer and former President of the Royal Berkshire Show, he has given good service to a range of charities and voluntary organisations in Berkshire and beyond, including the Community Foundation, the Police Rehabilitation Trust, and the Country Land and Business Association. He is a past chairman of the West Berkshire Anglo American Association.

Mr Puxley lives near Newbury with his wife, Deborah, a son and a daughter.
