Minister for Africa Mr Duddridge said:

I am appalled by the attacks last night in Mandera County Kenya which reportedly killed 36 people, and Wajir Town where one person has died and many more were injured. I wish to express my sincerest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died. There is no place for such senseless acts of violence in our societies. The UK continues to stand by the Kenyan government both in the fight against terrorism and in its efforts to bring to justice those responsible for these barbaric acts, in accordance with international law.
