Wendy Williams, who is currently Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS Direct, was selected following a rigorous recruitment process which included approval by the Prime Minister and the Queen.

She will oversee forces in the Wales and Western region as well as the Criminal Justice Joint Inspectorate portfolio.

Wendy Williams has many years’ experience in the private, public and third sectors, including time spent as the Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS North East, a Sector Director for CPS London, and as Her Majesty’s Legal Inspector.
