Press release: Traffic bulletin: overnight lane closures on the northbound M1 in Bedfordshire for essential repairs

The work, which will consist of urgent carriageway repairs to a 2km section of the northbound M1 between junctions 14 and 15, will take place as follows:

  • Thursday 16 July: northbound hard shoulder and lanes 1 and 2 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on lane 3 for safety reasons
  • Friday 17 July: northbound hard shoulder and lanes 1 and 2 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on lane 3 for safety reasons Saturday 18 July: northbound lanes 1,2 and 3 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on the hard shoulder for safety reasons
  • Sunday 19 July northbound lanes 1,2 and 3 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on the hard shoulder for safety reasons
  • Monday 20 July: northbound hard shoulder and lanes 1 and 2 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on lane 3 for safety reasons
    Motorists affected by this work are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.
