As part of the Summer Diversity Internship Programme, the scheme’s current interns are invited to opening and closing receptions. The Closing Reception is a celebration of their experience on the scheme and also a chance to encourage their subsequent application for permanent Fast Stream positions. The event includes reflection on the interns’ achievements and highlights during their two months placement and recognises their fundraising over the summer within a ‘trade game’, with a prize offered to the top team. There are also motivational inputs from inspirational and high profile figures – both internal and external to the Civil Service – and opportunities to network with other interns and Fast Streamers over refreshments.
