News story: Civil news: revised exceptional funding guidance available

This item was filled under Housing

We are publishing revised guidance and forms for clients and providers on civil legal aid funding in non-inquest cases.

The guidance was published on 12 November 2015 and is available on the exceptional funding pages on GOV.UK – see below.

It takes into account the judgment of Mr Justice Collins in ‘IS versus the Director of Legal Aid Casework and the Lord Chancellor’.

What is changing?

  • updated content on the exceptional case funding scheme on GOV.UK, including how to apply
  • CIV ECF1 form and provider pack have been revised

We will also very shortly issue amended Lord Chancellor’s guidance under section 4 of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act.

Appeal

This judgment is being appealed and we will review these changes when we know the outcome.
