Veterinary medicines have been used for food producing animals without the required records being kept as set out in regulation 19 (records of acquisition and administration) and 20 (retention of records) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations (VMR).

Improvements are to update and maintain the veterinary medicines records as specified in regulation 19 of the VMR and retain these for five years as stated in regulation 20 of the VMR.
