A Downing Street spokesperson said:

The Prime Minister called the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte earlier today to discuss the migration crisis. The Prime Minister said he welcomed the steps that had already been taken to implement the EU-Turkey deal and they agreed that the approach was saving lives.

Both leaders agreed that it was important to ensure it was possible for returnees to be processed swiftly. The Prime Minister said that the UK would be sending 75 more British personnel to support Greece in the implementation of the agreement.

They also agreed on the importance of taking action to close down other illegal migration routes into Europe, notably the Central Mediterranean route from North Africa including by bolstering the Libyan coastguard.
