News story: Crown Court Digital Case System – defence practitioner workshops

Following the successful implementation of the Crown Court Digital Case System (DCS), we recognise there remains opportunities to develop and improve the user experience. We are holding a number of workshops in October 2016 specifically for defence practitioners to give us their thoughts on particular elements of DCS.

We are extending the use of DCS into the Court of Appeal and we are particularly keen to refine how multi-hander cases are managed as well as review how notifications can add value to the customer.

All workshops will be held in the Court of Appeal building at the Royal Courts of Justice, The Strand, London.

Workshops calendar

  • Workshop 1 – 11 October 2016 10am to 1pm

Aim – Identify role based access for chambers clerks and other defence users and how this will work with the new Multi – Hander solution.

  • Workshop 2 – 12 October 2016 10am to 1pm

Aim – Identify role based access for chambers clerks and other defence users and how this will work with the new Multi – Hander solution.

  • Workshop 3 – 13 October 2016 10am to 1pm

Aim – Review how ‘invite defence domain’ function impacts on multi-hander solution. Develop invite process for multi-hander solution, incorporating Court of Appeal and Chambers Clerk requirements.

  • Workshop 4 – 14 October 2016 10am to 1pm

Aim – Understand user requirements for assigning a document to a defendant (or more than one defendant) on upload.
