This item was filled under Housing

At around 10:00 hrs on 7 December 2016, a Manchester to London Euston express service struck an engineering trolley. This caused the outer pane of a window to be broken and caused some underframe damage. No one was hurt. The trolley was one of four that had been stored in the tunnel since the night of 4/5 December.

We have undertaken a preliminary examination into the circumstances surrounding this accident. Having assessed the evidence which has been gathered to date, we have decided to publish a safety digest.

The safety digest will shortly be made available on our website.
